The Second Trial of Aql in Dune Awakening becomes available upon completing the first quest in the Vermillius Gap questline: Moving On. If you’ve completed this quest as well as the First Trial of Aql in Hagga Basin, you’re ready for the next one.

Here’s how to find the Second Trial of Aql location and complete the challenge.

Second Trial of Aql Location

The Second Trial of Aql location is in a cave called The Deep Struggle, in the Eastern Vermillius Gap. The entrance is north of Aren’s Post, between the two large rock formations:

Enter through the large gap in the wall.

Follow the path down, but beware of fall damage - it’s best to jump from ledge to ledge. When you reach the lowest part of the cave, inhale the spice to start the Second Trial of Aql.

Second Trial of Aql Walkthrough

Pick up the Static Compactor in front of you.

Use this weapon to remove the fire on the ground. If you step into the fire before removing it, you’ll have to restart that section of the trial.

Fire at the wall of sand to remove it.

In the next section, fire the Static Compactor at each of the poison bottles to remove them. Be sure to keep your distance!

When you seemingly reach a dead end, fire the Static Compactor at the swirling sand. This will transform the sand into solid floating boulders.

Jump from boulder to boulder to reach the other side, where you must interact with the wall to complete the Second Trial of Aql. Next up is the Third Trial of Aql.
