Dune: Awakening is a multiplayer survival game set on Arrakis, a brutally unforgiving desert world where shelter and water is scarce, and enormous sandworms roam beneath the sand, emerging to swallow anything on the surface. The unique conditions of Arrakis generate Spice Melange, the most valuable resource in the Imperium.

The game doesn't follow the canonical Dune storyline, instead exploring an alternate reality where Paul Atreides was never born and the Fremen have disappeared. Players are sent to Arrakis by the Bene Gesserit in order to accomplish a secret mission, and must survive in the harsh desert and accumulate power to progress.

Players can ally themselves with the Atreides or Harkonnen factions, and can play solo or team up with others in a Guild.
